The 14th Clean Energy Ministerial and 8th Mission Innovation meeting (CEM14/MI-8) is scheduled to take place in Goa, India between 19th to 22nd of July, 2023. Scheduled on the margins of the G20 Energy Transitions Ministerial Meeting (ETMM), this year’s Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) and Mission Innovation (MI) meetings will bring together, governments, international organizations, private sector, academia, innovators, civil society, and early career researchers and policymakers over a four-day program featuring high-level ministerial dialogues, global initiative launches, award announcements, minister-CEO roundtables, and a wide array of side-events cutting across diverse themes of clean energy transition. CEM14/MI8 will also feature a public facing technology showcase demonstrating cutting edge advances in clean energy from India and around the world.

The 9th ISGAN Award of Excellence 2023 and GSEF Award was organized on 21 July 2023 to recognize Excellence in Smart Grid Projects around the Globe. This year’s Award Ceremony took place in Goa, India during CEM 14 – MI8 Program. The Theme of the Award was ”Artificial Intelligence for Smart Grid”. For the Year 2023, 9th ISGAN Awards of Excellence 2023 Winner is Cleanwatts Digital and Runner up is Enedis. GSEF Award and honourable mention by 9th ISGAN Award of Excellence 2023 for exemplary work has been awarded to “Korea Electric Power Corporation Research Institute” For Ai-Based Distribution Grid Load And Asset State Prediction System and Intellismart Infrastructure Private Ltd For AI/Ml Powered Enterprise Analytics for Power Distribution Companies. India Smart Grid Forum (ISGF) was awarded ‘WINNER of the 2022 ISGAN Awards of Excellence’ for Smart Grid Workforce Development for an Inclusive Energy Transition at the 8th Annual ISGAN Awards Ceremony 2022 organised as part of the Global Clean Energy Action Forum (GCEAF) and 13th Clean Energy Ministerial Meeting (CEM13) held from 21-23 September 2022 in Pittsburgh, PA, US. 25th International Conference and Exhibition on Electricity Distribution (CIRED 2019) held in Madrid, Spain (3-6 June 2019). CIRED is the leading forum for Electricity Distribution community and it covers the field of electricity distribution systems and associated services including dispersed and embedded generation issues; technical aspects of electricity supply; and related aspects such as cost reduction, environment, regulation, organisation and related IT systems. CIRED 2019 Proceedings are published by AIM (Association des Ingénieurs de Montefiore).

The sixth annual meeting of the Innovation for Cool Earth Forum (ICEF) will be held in Tokyo on October 9-10, hosted by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization. ICEF is attended by the world’s leading experts from industry, academia, and government, and aims to encourage discussion and cooperation on addressing climate change issues through the promotion and acceleration of innovation in the areas of energy and the environment. The forum was established on the initiative of Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and its annual meeting has been held in Japan since 2014. The overall theme of this year’s ICEF 2019 is “Bending down the emissions trajectory by Innovation and Green Finance”. The meeting will focus on innovations that bend world’s CO2 emission curve down and Green Finance as a promoting factor. The theme will be discussed from the perspective of government, industry, academia, and recent international initiatives such as TCFD, CDP, RE100, and etc.

The 2017 DistribuTech Conference broke record attendance with over 13,000 professionals from 77 nations to come together to discuss electric power transmission and distribution challenges, case studies, and opportunities. 46th Session of CIGRE, the bi-annual technical conclave was held in Paris from 21- 26 August 2016. CIGRE (International Council on Large Electric Systems) is a permanent, non-governmental and non-profit international association founded in 1921. It was dedicated to the leading worldwide organisation on electric power systems, covering the technical, economic, environmental, operational, organisational and regulatory aspects. Dr. Klaus Frohlich, President of CIGRE opened the 46 Session by welcoming the participants and presenting an update on CIGRE activities since the 45 Session in August 2014. The event had keynote sessions, poster sessions, discussion forums and 543 number of technical papers, 500+ exhibitors and 8500 senior power sector professionals from around world. ISGF presented a technical paper on “Leveraging Smart Grid assets for building Smart Cities at Marginal Cost” which was also selected for the poster presentation sessions. This paper describes how Smart Grid assets can be leveraged to build Smarter Cities at marginal cost by extending the automation, IT and communication infrastructure of the Smart Grids (such as GIS Maps, Billing and Customer Care Systems, SCADA/DMS, Outage Management Systems, Mobile Crew Management Systems, Command and Control Centre etc.) to other infrastructure domains (water and gas distribution, transport and security, housing and municipal tax collections, repair and restoration services) in a city.

European Utility Week (EUW) is the largest event in Europe for the entire smart utility sector, accumulating over 10,000 international smart energy stakeholders and 500 exhibitors. This 3-day event offers a notable multi-track strategic conference programme, a free 3-day utility case study programme on the exhibition floor and a highly revered innovation hub.

ISGF took an official delegation from India to the EUW 2016. During the 2016 edition from 15-17 November 2016, Barcelona, Spain saw the launch of new initiatives including the Energy Revolution, Intelligent Buildings and a revamped Innovation Programme, all less than one roof!

The Smart City Expo World Congress was held in Barcelona from 15-17 November 2016, Barcelona, Spain (http://www.smartcityexpo.com/en/). It was scheduled in conjunction with EUW 2016. ISGF took an official delegation from India to the event. The 6th edition of Smart City Expo World Congress was its most successful to date with over 16,688 visitors, 591 exhibitors and 420 speakers with presence from 600 cities coming together to debate, share visions and showcase solutions for the development of our cities.
